Day at Sea & Formal Night

As you all can tell, I'm behind on blogging - about two days. We just got back from a 7 hour tour of Mazatlan, the girls are taking naps and I'm trying to catch up! Anyway, here's our first day at sea, which turned out to be pretty cool (68 F)...too cool for us to be hanging out by the pool. Per the Disney cruise staff, this has been the pattern on each of the two previous cruises too. Warmer weather is ahead though...but I don't want to get ahead of myself. Back to Monday.

Today was a day for relaxing and getting reacquainted with the ship. Our first event for the day was the Castaway Club (repeat Disney cruisers) meet and greet in Rockin Bar D. Here we got to meet our substitute Captain (Captain Tom is on vacation), eat some snacks and enter ourselves into the drawing for free Castaway Club clocks. Next up were “Art of Entertaining” sessions on cake and plate decorating and napkin folding in Studio Sea. I thought the chef (from England) doing the decorating was less than enthusiastic about the task and really didn’t show any really cool techniques. The young lady doing the napkin folding was much better but still frustratingly fast at the end of each folding. Luckily we came away with step by step instructions with which to practice. Next up was a wine tasting in Sessions Lounge. Susan and I always enjoy drinking wine so this was a winner.

Monday night was also Formal Night, which meant dressing up and going around the ship getting our picture made against various backdrops. The evening was capped off with the theatrical show “Golden Mickeys” in the Walt Disney Theatre and dinner in Lumiere’s. Tomorrow is Cabo San Lucas.
